We are now looking for you who want to work in an authority that has an important and central role in the democratic process.
About the job
The Election Authority is the central election authority and is responsible nationally for planning, coordinating, and conducting general elections and referendums. The authority is also responsible for managing tasks within the framework of the European Union's citizens' initiative.
As an election officer at the Election Authority, you will participate in the planning and implementation of elections. You will take part in the development work related to the electoral process, which includes work with communication, training, educational materials, requirements specification, and the development of routines within the work area. You will provide ongoing support regarding rules and routines both internally and externally to, among others, county administrative boards, parties, and municipalities.
The Swedish Tax Agency is the host authority for the Election Authority, and all who work for the Election Authority are employed by the Swedish Tax Agency, located at the Election Authority's office in Sundbyberg. The office consists of about 45 employees, and you will work in teams in our election unit.

About you

In this job, you should:
- be good at collaborating and supporting others to achieve common goals

- have a methodical and systematic working approach
- have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.
- be able to analyze information flows, see connections, and make decisions.
You should also have:
- a completed university education of at least 180 credits/alternatively 120 old points in law or social sciences
- at least 2 years of current and relevant work experience from public administration.
Experience in election work is desirable, for example, in the role of election coordinator within a municipality or county administrative board.
Good to know
The employment is a temporary position from May 1 to April 30, 2026.
An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
